Student Information System (SIS) Best Practices

This webpage will contain recommendations and best practices to keep your SIS data up-to-date in data fields that are used in DataZone Analytics.

All Student Information Systems

  1. Please import the 5.7 Foster Youth report from CALPADS into your SIS on a monthly basis.

  2. Maintain the Eligibility Start and End dates in the Program Enrollment tables, and verify for any discrepancies for Foster Youth, Homeless and Migrant programs.

  3. Import the CASEMIS file from Special Education Information System (e.g. SEIS or SIRAS) into your SIS on a monthly basis. This process can be manual or automated.

Indicators for Foster Youth, Homeless, and Migrant Students

Due to recent help desk ticket investigations for out-of-date indicators, our support team has uncovered additional recommendations for Aeries SIS.

  • Foster Youth, Homeless, and Migrant indicators are eligibility based programs.

  • Data is sourced from the PGM table in Aeries. The matrix below shows when the indicator is marked as Yes or No.
