District Snapshot
Overview
The District Snapshot dashboard in SMART provides district and site staff with a quick overview of key metrics that can support district and school reporting efforts, including the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).
District Snapshot includes current-year data as well as end-of-year snapshots from previous school years, allowing users to review historical trends and outcomes over time.
Users can select a school year and filter data by school to analyze student outcomes across multiple measures and student groups.
Access
District Snapshot is available to all users in the district from the SMART application
The available measures include:
Attendance
Attendance by Month
Attendance Disproportinality
Marks
GPA
Discipline Disproportionality
Student Subgroups
The District Snapshot shows percentage breakdowns for attendance, marks, GPA, and discipline broken down by school and by these student subgroups:
Gender
Language Proficiency
Foster Youth
Special Education
Socio-economically Disadvantaged
Race/Ethnicity (expand/collapse the subgroups that make up that race/ethnicity with the +/- icons)
School Filter
Use the School Filter in the upper-left corner of the page to:
View data for a specific school
Compare selected schools
view data for all schools in the district
Snapshot Pages
The following table describes the information available in each District Snapshot page.

Attendance | Shows attendance percentages by school for each student subgroup |  |
Attendance by Month | Shows attendance percentages by month for each student subgroup. Attendance by month also provide both cumulative attendance (to date) and attendance for the month alone.

Attendance disproportionality | Shows the count of students with attendance dispositions percentage points

Marks | Shows the count of students that earned each final mark applicable for their course (e.g., letter grades, credit/no credit, pass, incomplete, withdrawal, no marks, etc.) | |
GPA | Shows the count of students that currently have GPAs broken down into the following ranges:

Discipline disproportionality | Shows the count of students with disciplinary dispositions percentage points

Disproportionality Logic
Each demographic column shows: count (gap%)
count — number of students in that subgroup in this row.
gap% — a composition gap in percentage points, not a percentage of anything on its own:
(subgroup's share of everyone in this row's category) − (subgroup's share of everyone active/enrolled)
Positive gap — that subgroup is over-represented in this category relative to their own share of enrollment.
Negative gap — that subgroup is under-represented relative to their own share of enrollment.
Near zero — proportionate: the subgroup shows up in this category about as often as you'd expect from their enrollment alone.
Example: 33 (+20.56%) means 33 students in that subgroup are in this row, and that subgroup is 20.56 percentage points more represented here than in the school's/district's overall active enrollment.
The Total column is not a gap — it's simply that row's count as a share of total active enrollment.
Historical Data
District Snapshot supports viewing end-of-year snapshots from prior school years. Use the school year selector to review historical district and school performance data across all available measures.
